St. George Parents

involved  in their children's education

Parents play a key role in the St. George community. We strongly encourage them to take an active part in events and activities at the school and to contribute whatever time and talents they can. We believe that when teachers and parents work together, and family and school are integrated, students are more engaged and learning is enhanced. To help parents take a more active role in their children’s schooling, we communicate with them frequently through newsletter, email, and our website. Also, teachers communicate directly with parents on a regular basis to keep them abreast of grades, assignments, activities, and events on campus. Special events, such as Dragonfest and the Rue de St. George art festival, and daily events, such as morning chapel, give parents the chance to get on campus and interact with teachers, students, and other parents. We also encourage parents to be part of our Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) as a great way to provide leadership on a variety of issues. We know that a lot of parents have demanding schedules and can’t participate in all activities, but with so many opportunities for participation, we make it easier for those with even the busiest schedules to take a more involved role in their children’s education and to enjoy the benefits of fellowship in the St. George community.
