In order to foster the required skills and understanding necessary for proficient English speaking and writing, students must properly learn and retain the necessary concepts and rules in an efficient and effective manner.
St. George’s utilization of the Shurley English program supplies students with the tools necessary to relate a definition to a concept, a concept to a skill practice, and a skill practice to writing and editing. These skills supply students with the ability to form properly written sentences and paragraphs, which then leads the way for well-written essays, reports and letters. Obtaining these skills and knowledge supplies students with the satisfaction and self-confidence needed to excel in English, as well as other subject areas.
