Rob Devlin
Head of School, Leadership Seminar, Teacher: Seventh Grade
Appointed in 2005
Leaving my hometown and a fabulous school in Houston was a difficult decision, but the family feel of the St. George community, coupled with an outstanding academic preparation and solid spiritual foundation, made a move to St. George a great option for me and my family.
The greatest blessings in my life have been my faith, my family, and my friends. My wife and I have been married since 1991 and have been blessed with three amazing children. I enjoy all types of sports, and I swim competively with the Masters of South Texas Swim Team. I also enjoy photography, spending time with my family, reading and eating out.
In the words of Louis Pasteur, when I approach a child he inspires in me two sentiments: tenderness for what he is and respect for what he may become. Meaningful, lasting learning is firmly rooted in experience and is perfected in the context of relationships within a safe, challenging, and supportive environment. As an educator, I have the honor, privilege and the awesome responsibility of contributing to this complex process that imparts understanding and fosters growth in others. It is my great opportunity as an educator, a leader, and a colleague to facilitate the type of growth and learning that results from pursuing a dream, facing a challenge, or conquering a fear.
