English Teacher: Fourth-Grade

Appointed in 2006

St. George gave me the opportunity to teach my two favorite subjects, English and Social Studies, in a smaller, more personal setting. An offer like that I couldn't turn down. From the moment I set foot on this campus, I felt that I had "come home."

My husband and I have been married for 30 years. We both like to read and tend to our yard. Our oldest child, David, is 26. He lives in Missouri where he is the Associate Head Coach of the Missouri State Bears swim team. Our youngest son, Daniel, is 21 and attends the University of North Texas in Denton where he is majoring in addictions rehabilitation studies.

I believe that the wonderful continuing-education opportunities that I received while I was employed in NEISD have served me well. I really grew as a teacher because we were constantly challenged to think about our role in the classroom. The varied strategies from my previous work experience continue to enhance my classroom instruction here at St. George.
